RIVALS IN ROMANCE ON M-NET SERIES

Wanted: chic and sassy singles for new dating show
If you want to hook up with “the one”, you can’t rely on the goodwill of a chubby little matchmaker with wings and an arrow. Nor can a potent potion, lavish gifts or little sweet nothings in the moonlight ignite lasting love. Modern-day courtship is complex. It’s a fine art – and a battle. It’s not just about “you” and “him/her”. It’s also about “them” - the many rivals who continually gyrate toward the object of your affection.
You need to know how to wipe away the competition!
Popular pay-television channel M-Net Series has commissioned an original new reality dating show, Rivals in Romance, in which chic, sassy singles have to employ cunning strategies in an effort to win the game of love.
The search is on to find contestants for this fun-filled reality love story which will play out over thirteen episodes.
Eligible bachelors who are ready to flaunt their charms and single ladies who know how to bedazzle the opposite sex should enter immediately!
The closing date for entries is 31 August 2010 and the entry form is available on the M-Net Series website http://www.mnet.co.za/mnetseries. Eligible contestants may also SMS their name and email address to 34086 and an application form will be emailed to them.
But who is eligible to take part in Rivals in Romance?
Apart from being single, applicants have to be at least 21 by the end of August 2010. They should also be citizens or residents of the Republic of South Africa, with proof that that can legally live and work in the country.
“We’re looking for smart, sophisticated, outgoing people who are hungry for love and willing to take risks in pursuit of a long-term relationship,” says Rivals in Romance Executive Producer Shaamila Fataar from Elemental Productions. “Don’t be concerned that you’ll share a house with questionable characters. In this show, there is no space for sleaze-balls, odd-balls, desperadoes and hussies.”
Rivals in Romance will take viewers into the modern dating world by setting up challenges in which female competitors need to secure dates to avoid elimination. The ladies will be in pressure-cooker situations week after week, as they vie for attention and discover that ending up with Mr. Right is easier said than done.
M-Net Series Channel Head, Khosi Khanyile, says international reality dating shows have become an institution on the channel. ”Series such as The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are firm favourites on M-Net Series and its fitting to produce an original, proudly South African show exploring our dating realities. Rivals in Romance is the channel’s very first original reality show format and we have spent many months developing the concept to ensure it is perfect for our target audience. Now all we need are the contestants ...”
